Several times a week, my taskbar flies off the screen bottom to the left margin. I know clicking somewhere there and dragging will get it back to the bottom but I have not been successful

Left click taskbar on the blank place, and then drag to bottom.

Is the taskbar locked? Before you try to drag it, right click on it and if "lock the taskbar" has a check by it, click on it to unlock it. Then try dragging it down. You shold be able to click on any blank spot as flewsky said, then drag.
