    OS Name: Vista Home Basic
    Versiion: 6.0.6000 Build 6000
    Acer Laptop

A friend gave me this laptop. At first i couldnt log in through norma mode so i went through safe mode and deleted a version of the boot.virus. When i finally got in through normal mode i found that the recovery drive D: was completely empty.

The C: drive is a total mess with instances of W32/Virut.gen, W32/Emerleox.worm, Hider trojan and generic pws trojan sll over the place:eek:...

Ive been scanning the documents individually on another laptop and qauranteening the affected files...But i cant delete them..

Can someone tell me how to clean the whole drive and reformat the whole thing..

Oh and systme32 file reads only 43kb in size..Its totally infected..

    Hellppp

IF the computer is infected with Virut (what's the proof?), unfortunately, there is no cure for it.
The only option is full format, and clean Windows reinstall.

If you want to back up some files, you can, but avoid backing up any files with following extensions:
EXE, SCR, ASP, HTM and PHP
    All others should be safe.
