One I hadn't seen before is a real sneaky customer. W32.Gibe@mm which comes with a nice write-up stating it is a security update from Microsoft and an attachment named Q216309.exe which many of my friends would probably fall for in a second.

Typical trojan payload. Apparently been kicking around since earlier this year.

    Details from Symantec Here .

    Good find Newt!
I'd not heard of that one. Though after this latest round with Klez that my poor Norton's been batting left right and center, I'm betting that there'll be many who latch onto this one unawares too. :D

The Litmus.203 trojan is being circulated in a similar(ish) manner. A number of hashed "Windows Update" sites which offer an infected file (patch.exe) are being spamvertised in what appears to be a MS TechNet newsletter which directs people to the download site.

Both the site and the e-mail appear are quite convincing - erm - if, that is, you disredard the spelling errors :)
