    Hi all,

    Need your advice urgently,

Recently , I installed w2k server OS on this new server . I also have a PDC ( NT 4.0 ) , domain name is CCS running in the existing network.
In order to transfer all the user accounts from this PDC to w2k, I have to install NT 4.0 as BDC.
After which , I promote my BDC to PDC. Automatically, the former PDC demotes to BDC.
On this new PDC, I installed W2K and AD. DNS is also installed as the system could not find the DNS server in our network.
After the installation of DNS and running fine, the domain name( DNS domain name ) of the server needs to be change.
Unfortunately, after changing the domain name , the user accounts which were transferred from the ex-PDC server were lost!!
I tried to browse the BDC server, hoping the user accounts were available but the BDC prompt could not find the domain name.

Strangely, my users can log in to BDC to retrieve their data.

Is there a way to change my w2k server back to the domain name which was used to be? Directory restore seemed unable to work.

Is there a way to change the BDC back to PDC and get back all the user accounts lists as it once was?

Please help. Solutions are deeply appreciated. Thank you

Oops ericwi - you lost me in there somewhere.

    1. Is your PDC at this moment the w2K box or an NT4 box?

1.a. What OS is your BDC?

    2. How, exactly, did you set the system up with a w2K PDC?

    3. What, exactly, is working now and what is not?
