Environment: W2k Pro SP 2 or 3, workgroup, P3/2 ghz, 512kRam, Ethernet network with IP

Login with any valid userid/password causes system to wait for approximately 60 seconds. Login then works normally. No other apparent symptoms. No error messages in logfiles.

Any ideas on how to diagnose ?

    Thanks,
    Todd

Sounds like its trying to resolve something in the background

Try adding a HOSTS file with the names and IP addresses of all the PCs on the network

HOSTS file (with no extension) should be in c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc
