I have been a loyal Windows user since the 1980s and have complained very little about updates and upgrades. However, the recent Windows 10 updates have me confused and rattled.

For some reason, the sizing of the taskbar seems to be a very low priority for the developers. I like to set it at 2 high so I can see the time, day and date. But, sporadically, no matter how I set it, it goes back to one when I close down then reopen the PCs (2 laptops and a desktop).

Now I am confronted with 2 apps I can not get rid of. "Meet Now", which I can hide from the taskbar, but not remove from the PC. And "Your Phone Companion" which I can not get rid of in any fashion. I made the mistake on one of my laptops of connecting my phone to one of my laptops. No matter what suggestions I follow to remove the phone and uninstall the app from the phone, it will not go away. It is irritating and aggravating to be in the middle of some work and have the phone ring on my laptop.

It appears Microsoft is becoming Apple in that It wants to tell me what I should do with my property.

I don't believe this is something MS did. I also like a 3-line clock (2-row Taskbar) and use it this machine, my laptop, and on two other computers too. And no update has ever reset it.

Are you saying this problem appears with all 3 of your computers? If so, then I suspect it is some change you made - perhaps some Windows tweak program you installed. Do you have "Lock all taskbars" checked?
