Resolved Volume Control Icon disappears from taskbar

    I use Windows XP Professional SP3. After restart, volume control icon disappears from taskbar. I repace it using Control Panel but it disppears again after i shut down computer.

    To try the easiest thing first, right click on an empty space on the Taskbar, left click Properties.

    On the Taskbar tab, click on the Customize button. In the window that opens, click on Volume to select it. In the drop down list that appears, click on "Always Show." Click OK. See if that fixes it.

    Go to this Kelly's Korner page.

    Scroll down to line 320 and in the left-hand column, click on "Restore Volume/Net Icon to Notification Area" to download a small .vbs file.

    Once you have it downloaded, find it and double click it to run it.
