Are there any good programs that let groups talk over LAN? I would like to use it whilst playing a game with friends so the process must be relatively small.

    Thanks

Pretty sure that is what most gamers use.
I think I remember one other, but that is most common.

I use Ventrillo. It works great. Once you're connected to the server all you have to do is talk into your mic and it transmits the sound. No need to press any keys to talk although you can set yours up that way if you prefer. One computer on the network has to to have the server program installed and running on it, the rest just need the client.

Do both of these programs work on LAN only? Where i will be using it will have no Internet connection.

    Thanks

I've only use the Ventrilo client myself so I'm not really sure what's involved with the server. That said, from what I know about setting up the client, I would think that it would work just fine on a lan. The clients only need an IP address and password in order to connect to the server. I would think that if the server is set up on the lan, using the IP address of the server puter would be no different than if it were on the internet. You could post a question about this at their forums though to make sure. More than likely somebody there could give you a definite answer.
