What do I do? I've double- and triple-checked the license for our company. I'm even using the original discs MS gave us (the hologrammy ones), instead of the usual copies I use for on-site installation (so we don't take the original off-site and risk breaking our only copy).

But this is a Bad Thing, and I'm not entirely sure what options I have as far as troubleshooting software that's not even installed yet to troubleshoot... Where does one begin with something like that?

Your only option is to call MS and seek relief. If they have deactivated your VLK for no good reason, they will be able to assign you a new one.

Worked it with my CIO before calling MS. I'd been given a copy with a volume license, but the software was a retail, sold-with-machine copy, which required its own license of the side of some machine.

I had to dig, but we found our VLK software shortly after we discovered the mix-up.

    Blah. >_<
