Each time that I open a video film saved on a USB stick, VLC opens with the same saved video title. Up till now, I opened the USB stick, chose a title, and this was opened by VLC and played. Can this be reverted back to choosing title prior to play?

How are you opening the file? Double click the file or use VLC menu?

Open HD, select a video title and click on it, this automatically opens file by VlC and VLC plays selected file. However as said VLC plays first title automatically as to clicked selected title each time. I presume a box within VLC is ticked to automatically open first item shown on HD.

I know of no such setting in VLC that controls what files are played.
Open the root of the thumb drive > locate the video you want to play > right click it > select Play with VLC Media Player.

Bobby, are you opening a video installed in your HDD or is it on the USB thumb drive? I'm reading that you have more than 1 (one) video clip/movie on the USB drive.

Defrag at regular times, two year old from new. Looking at VLC, it appears to open with the last screen title.

Are all your videos in the same format? VLC may be opening the last used one because that format is recognized.o_O:oops: As Tony suggested re settings - I have not experienced your problem when selecting video on USB thumb drive.

I have always used VLC format, ever since it became available. A solution found in my case, is showing promise :: in VLC>tools>Preferences>untick box marked recently played items>click save and close VLC. Could help other VLC users..
