    I am running a Windows Vista Home Premium OS and I have been having problems with visual c++ runtime errors. I didn't always have this problem, but frequently when I start my computer, it loads the desktop and I get an error box that says:

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Runtime Error!

    Program: C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe

    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
    Please contact the application's support team for more information.

    Also, whenever I right-click on the desktop, I get the same error message only the program is "C:\Windows\explorer.exe "

    I have found on several posts that say removing the google toolbar will resolve this issue, but I am still having the problem. Can anyone help?

    Try this:

    -Start computer in Safe Mode with networking capability
    -Go to you internet explorer
    -Go to Tools
    -Mananage Add-Ons
    -Disable ALL of the add ons (You have to toggle between the two options in the drop down box)
    -Once ALL are disabled, delete your cookies (Tools - Internet Options)

    If this works, you can start adding add-ons, one-by-one.

    Using msconfig (type it in a run window) stop all start-ups and see if the message disappears. If so, add them back one at a time to see what is giving rise to the error. If not, msg back for other things to try.
