Vista's Mail is absolutely the worse email program I've ever seen or heard of. I'm surprised that there has been no threads on this, or did I miss one? I've had Vista for three Months now. This is the only thing I haven't gotten straighten out.

It either stalls, locks up, or just terribly slow.

I've not used any other than Outlook Express, Outlook, and now Windows Mail.

I would like to abandon Window Mail and try something else. Suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks. I just didn't look deep enough. I see that I'm not alone with this. Maybe soon Microsoft will give fix for this.

Microsoft is to abandon Windows Mail & replace it with Windows Live Mail, so don't hold your breath waiting for a fix

I'm not familiar with Windows Live Mail. I do hope it is an improvement over Windows Mail.

I'll just try to tough it out with what I have and hope I can use the Windows Live. Surely it will be an improvement over what I have now.

Thank you Sir for the information.

Thank you for the link. I am trying the Mail Program at the present. I think I will like this. It seems stable and certainly not as slow as Windows Mail.

Good fortune came from my first post. Have an email program now that works fine. Thanks to all.

As a parting to this thread I would like to say Windows Live Mail fits me! Like it better than Outlook Express. Was my lucky day when I posted, looking for good mail program and was referred to this one.

If you are using the Windows Mail in Vista, this might be your solution to something better.

Good to hear - just remember that it is a beta version so there may be a few minor glitches to be ironed out in the final version.

PETEC - In the version listed under help tool-bar, it indicated "Version 12.0.1184 Windows Live Mail." No where is BETA listed.

Maybe this is a final and I was there when released! No matter, just wanted to tell you what is written about the Version.

    Again, thanks for your assistance.

I was wrong as usual. This is still a BETA. Thanks for being nice enough to not call it to my attention. I take that pleasure.
