I am on a Dell running Vista home premium (sp2) and when I try to shutdown, it starts the process and then goes straight to reboot. What should I do to fix...? Thanks

    Turn off automatic system restarts.
Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Startup and Recovery -> Settings button -> System Failure -> uncheck Automatically restart. Let us know if and what errors are reported.

You can check in Control Panel -> Problem Reports and Solutions to see if there are any listings relating to the time of the restart.
