    Hi Group,

I recently bought VISTA Ultimate SP1. I have tried to install it on my laptop that runs VISTA Home Premium 64 bit, and on my desktop running XP Pro 32 bit. In both cases everything appears to be fine until the very end when I get a message that VISTA cannot "update" , I forget the exact word, certain system configurations and backs out of the install and reverts to the original operating system. I have run the compatability software and in both cases did not come up with any issues for the software to fail. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a solution? Thanks:

We might be able to help if you post the exact error message.

    The exact error message is:

Windows could not configure one or more system components. To install windows, restart the compuyter and then restart the installation.

Thank you. I'll try that. It is pretty frustrating to take all the time to upgrade the software to just have it fail.
