I have installed Vista and am using it in the offfice behind an ISA 2000 server.

The client installs and works fine howevere the use of external SMTP Mail within Outlook is now not working.

    Email sticks in the Outbox.

I know this was a problem with ISA 2000 when it originally came out but had been resolved.

    Any ideas on this one

    Hi Arie

Solution 1. - Is not really an approved solution. What you are doing is bypassing your internal DNS, which may well fix the email problem, but will cause you to then not be part of the managed active directory domain.

Solution 2. - This one is a better option to try, as it does not by pass the internal DNS. However it is usuallly not a problem with ISA to resolve the names. Its just that they dont have the firewall client installed on the PC.

    --------------

I have discovered that problem was not directly ISA after all, it is just an incompatable with the CA Antivirus which i downloaded for vista. The minute i removed the AntiVirus the email started going out again.

The Antivirus allows you to send when not behind ISA (ie when i was at home) but disabled sending when i was at the office and behind the ISA firewall.

Yea, I also had problems with CA's AV offering for Vista... I'm sure I won't recommend CA any time soon :)
