When I first got my VISTA machine I set the display to look like XP. Now I want to change it back to the VISTA look and feel.

How do I reset the display appearance.

Second part of the question is how do I change the default font used on the desktop and most everywhere in Vista? It is to small and has a shadow making it hard to read.

    thanks,

    Kermitp

    Try this

Start\Control Panel\Personalization\Theme\Theme Setting. See if this helps.

Goto Help and Support and type in Font see the 4th line from the top.

    Hope this works

Making font larger was not the solution

Mopar, I do appreciate your help and thought I'd follow-up with feedback.

Turns out making the fonts larger was not a good solution as several applications no longer displayed properly. I tried several custom settings but even 102% messed up the application displays.

Guess I am just stuck with the default since custom would not let me set it below 100%.

Maybe my real problem is that I did not explain my problem well enough.

I find the Vista default display settings very hard to see. I thought changing the font and font size would be the answer. But it is not acceptable for all applications.

Unless you or someone has other suggestions I guess I am stuck with this pig.

As you might guess I am not a Vista fan, I think it is a major step backward in user friendliness and useability.

Sorry I wasn't much help. Also sorry you'r not happy with Vista.
I bought a new HP about 4 months ago with Vista installed and I'm very happy, I have no problem with font size.

    Thanks for the feed back.

Well, you can always change the resolution. Put it a step down. For example, if it is currently set at 1280 x 1024, change it to 1024 x 768.
