    Hello all,

I've got Vista Ultimate, and it's been bluescreening since almost the day I got it, although it has gotten a lot better. I thought that the problem was iTunes at first, but then it bluescreened several times after I uninstalled that, so it must be something. The dump log from the latest bluescreen (just about 30 minutes ago) follows:

    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (8e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.
    Arguments:
Arg1: c000001d, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 81e4afd8, The address that the exception occurred at
    Arg3: acb07a28, Trap Frame

Can anyone help me read this, to see what is causing my errors? There was no specific error message on the bluescreen, although in the past I've gotten something about bad IRQs, but those stopped cropping up.

[edit] Also, I should note that I am not doing any particular action when these pop up. In fact, I've had them happen at times when my computer is idling, or at least as far as I can tell. This last one occurred while I was playing Guild Wars, with iTunes open, if that helps at all.[/edit]

On a side note, I thought they changed the BSOD to a Red SOD. Am I wrong, or did they switch it back for sentimental reasons?

Vingelot - Welcome to the Board :)

These logs require expert knowledge to interpret - something I lack in this specific field :) - and we have one guy on the Board (occasionally) who can do this.

    However
From a little Googling I would certainly check out and stress your RAM using memtest or Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool

I see you reinstalled iTunes - this is another culprit
There are known problems with iTunes and Vista ....

    http://www.google.com/search?source...ls=GGLG,GGLG:2006-15,GGLG:en&q=itunes+++Vista

The latest version is supposed to be compatible ....
