Virus Taking Up Serious Gig [HJT Log]

Recently I noticed that my C drive has 88.5 gig of used space. I know for a FACT I have nowhere NEAR this amount of stuff on my computer, so I am pretty sure its a virus that is causing this. Can you get anything out of this HJT log?

First check to see if Norton Protected Storage is making copies of everything you delete. I believe you would see the option to access it when right clicking the recycle bin icon. Empty your recycle bin, then clear the protected storage contents.

Open My Computer and right click Local Disk C:, then select properties. Click Disk Cleanup. When the checkbox opens, check all boxes except 'compress old files', then click the More Options tab. Under the System Restore section, click Clean up, then Yes to the popup. When the restore point cleanup is complete, click OK on the disk cleanup box and wait for disk cleanup to complete.

Check your free space again and let us know the results.

 

I did not see Norton Protected Storage when I right clicked on my recycle bin - is there another way to access it if I do have it?

And I ran that disk cleanup- it freed up .9 gig.

I need to know what to do next...my computer is in critical condition...

 

I do not see any running, or listed in startup ; but I must ask if you have any P2P file sharing or torrent applications ?

Do you have anything unchecked in msconfig or disabled with another startup manager?

Have you used windows explorer to check the major folders of your tree to see if any particular one is taking up more than you would expect ?

 

I do have buttorent, but havent used it in months, and the things i downloaded there were only about 2 mb each. I have burned all the things i downloaded from bittorrent to cds, so i dont think that thats a problem.

nothing in my msconfig is unchecked, and i used a program that tells you what folders are taking up the most space, and my biggest folder is 4 gb. Other than that, i just have games and other folders that are less than 100 mb
