I have PC-cillin 2002 installed on my Windows XP computer, and three or four days a week, while I am on a web page, I get notice from PC-cillin that I am about to get an update. I don't understand how PC-cillin gets the update to my computer. Does PC-cillin get the updates to my computer through my e-mail address or what? Thank you very much.

It's being requested because you have elected to automatically check for update within the software.

It is sent to you the same way all web activity comes to you, via your assigned IP address.

    Cheers. :)

To Zephyr: Thank you for your message. If I obtain a new internet provider and get a new e-mail address, will that affect my IP address? Will I have to notify Pc-cillin of these changes in order to continue to get updates? Thank you.

No, in fact for many folks the IP address is dynamic by nature. But at any rate, you are indentified each time you make a query on the Web and it uses your then current IP address.

    :)
