A virus has corrupted my os. I do have the cd but it is useless unless I know what files they have altered/deleted etc.

I currently have the drive hooked up to my computer at work (win2000). Is there a program that scans a hardrive to see what essential windows files are missing or corrupt?

    Thanks.

jroyale--Do you have an antivirus program installed on your PC? If not you should get one and scan with it.
If you can reach the internet, you should consider the following, because among other things your problem may not be a virus, but could be some other type of malware, such as spyware.

While replacing corrupt files may help, if you still have the virus/spyware on your PC, the files will probably soon be corrupted again, so you might want to get rid of the "baddies" first.
