I am playing around with an old vintage 486- remember when these were something special.
the mouse does not seem to connect in a standard way. Do you use one of the ports? Which ones ? What adaptors would I need or are such adaptors available ?

    thanks

All of those had serial ports; in addition, some had PS/2 ports. Then there were some that had both.

The port you are looking for is a 9-pin serial port. It is almost rectangular except there is one side that is not as long as the other.

There is an adapter; but, they don't work on all systems, even when they come packaged with the mouse.

If you have quite a bit of trouble getting a mousre to work, I have six of the serial port mice here if you're willing to pay packaging and shipping.
