Still trying to help my friend with various problems concerning her Outlook Express 5.5. Suddenly she can no longer view startionery of received emails AND pictures inserted ,not attached, to an email. All she sees is a box with a red x. Have searched everywhere and all I can find is how to insert a picture into the body of a mail but not how to configure your Outlook Express to view an inserted picture.

The problem could be at the sending end and the graphic files involved are not being sent. Can the sender see the stationery and inserted pictures on the email copy in the Sent Main box?

Yes sender can see all in sent mail. We have done two tests of this, first lady A sent lady B a mail with stationery and an inserted photo. Receiver, lady B, could not see it. I was sent the same mail by lady A and I could see both the stationery and the inserted photo. BUT then lady B then forwarded her copy of the mail from lady A to me and there was nothing there but little boxes with a red "x" in each one . I then sent a message twice to lady B, first time with photo attached and she could view the photo with no problem. Then I sent the mail to lady B with the same photo inserted into the body of the mail and all she could see was a little box with a red "x" in the mail.

Try using SFC to replace mshtml.dll. Also, maybe an upgrade to IE6 wouldn't hurt?
