We saved some pictures sent to us and to view them we can only open them in windows photo fax viewer. We would like to have prints of the pictures made but is appears we must change the file type since we only saved them as file in my pictures. How can we change, if possible to be viewed as pictures?

Under type, only says file. When I click on file it ask me to open with and I selected windows photo and fax viewer and the picture is there.

Seems I should have been able to save as jpg. Correct? Can file be changed?

If you right click on a file->Properties - it should show you the file type/extension.

    Worth trying ....

Make a copy of one of the files and give it the .jpg extension and see what goes :)

I have been using IrfanView for about 10 years to change file types and to view all manor of picture file types. It is entirely free.

Here is the link: IrfanView Link

I duplicated what my wife did and found the pictures names were changed which must have caused them to be files rather than .jpg. The default was .jpg and should have been saved that way. Scout, I will check into IrfanView. Thank you also Steve & Pete.
