While in Windows Explorer, I prefer to have my files shown in the View/Detail setting, while in Control Panel I want the option set for Icons. In My Music I want the files shown in the Detail View while in several others I choose to have them shown in the Icons View.

Under Tools/Folder Options, I’ve checked the box noting to "Remember each folder’s view settingâ€, but it does NOT work. If I go to Control Panel after setting another folder once AGAIN to View/Details, then Control Panel shows up in the View/Details mode.

Is there some other setting I need to make to assure that each folder stays the way I want it to?

    Thanks.

    Newt,

I'll check your suggestion out and will let you know if it doesn't work.

Hopefully it will. Might take a few days to see, but thanks for the lead.
