    Hello

    I have netscape communicator 4.75...

I have set up the "View Attachment Inline" NOT
to be checked, because I like to see what I've receiced before it opens by itself...but since last night, when I open Netscape, the "thing" is Checked, I remove the check mark, close netscape, re-open it, and the "View attachment Inline" is checked again.....why ?

    Jappie :)<

    Hello Jappie,

Are you using an ISP Version of Communicator, by chance? Are any other settings unavailable, or are you unable to change the settings on anything else? There is a workaround if that is the case. Let me know.

    Hi Jappie,

    ISP = Internet Service Provider

You have have a corrupt file somewhere in Preferences. Try this:

    With Netscape closed:
    Back up the prefs.js file
Located in c:\program files\netscape\users\yourprofilename. Then, rename the prefs.js file to prefs.old.

When you restart Communicator a new prefs.js file will be created. You'll need to re-enter your email preferences as well as any other preference settings you have.

Let us know if this helps.

What Ramona was talking about was if your Communicator has been customised. Most likely if your Communicator is installed from your internet connection pack.

However, if you were able to de-select "View Attachment Inline ", I believe the setting did not get saved. (This might due to a crash in Netscape, and preference setting were lost.)
OR might simply your preference got re-build, (due to file damage).

Are you able to set NOT to view attachment again and have it saved? If so, you don't need to worry.

    Otherwise, follow Ramona's suggestions.

    ok

I tried the Pref thing, it worked..after several attempts...also noticed that my pref.js was associated with Dreamweaver...meaning that when I was double clicking on it, it used Dreamweaver (web site design program) to open it...anyway I removed this association...

Till now, everything seems to be allright Thank You, I'll let you know if something else happens :)

It is because all *.js (JavaScript) were associated to Dreamweaver. Just open it by notepad.
