My wife's hp 23=h150z All-in-one has a problem with video display. When it is first booted, videos display normally; in fact the quality is very good. After running for a while, all videos become blank and green. This happens most notably with Facebook (because that is what she uses the most), but also with any other video display I tried.

When a video comes up in Facebook, the cover picture displays, then turns green even before she tries to play it. The audio is fine.

The most common solution online (including Microsoft help) is to use 'software rendering instead of GPU rendering'. I have tried this, and it didn't work. The only thing that works reliably is to reboot. This is a pain and also does not work for long.

She has Windows 8.1, 64 bit, and all drivers are up to date. I have spent all afternoon on the phone with hp without a solution. Does anyone here have an idea?

I think I have done this before. When I just looked now, the Flash Settings box did not give the 'use hardware acceleration' option.

Also, some other videos that used html (I think that is what it said) did display properly.

Update Adobe Flash Player to the latest version from here, Adobe Flash Player.

What Internet browser are you using to watch videos on?

In either web browser, you don't have the option to right click on a video and disable hardware acceleration?

The last I looked, it wasn't there. Would Windows 10 potentially fix this problem?

No. If the OS is corrupt - it will migrate corrupt. You should endeavour to fix any problems first before the Upgrade and ensure all MS updates are currently installed. Neil.

Have you installed the latest video driver from AMD? If not then I'd recommend that you install it from here, AMD Catalyst Driver.

    maybe solved, but another problem

I updated about 10 days ago. I haven't heard her complain about the green screen since, but I want to wait longer before saying it is gone for good.

Today she tried to look at some new photographs but many, if not most, just showed up as black. I can see them from my computer normally. I suppose I should recheck the driver update! Even though we both are using Windows 8.1, her display is different than mine.
