Hi and welcome to the BBS,

You don't say if any other graphics card has worked or is this the first time start on a new build?

If the motherboard has onboard graphics and you are adding a new card, it could be that you need to disable the onboard graphics. This should be in the FAQs for the motherboard at the Gigabyte website.

It may need a BIOS update for the card to be recognised.

If the motherboard has built-in Ethernet (LAN) or audio, there may be a resources clash, so try disabling those.

My Gigabyte motherboard was incompatible with the AGP card I was trying (it took the supplier 3 months to work it out). They replaced the AGP card with a Gigabyte brand and it worked fine. If you need to return the AGP card, try a Gigabyte model.

    Matt

Look for an option in the Bios that makes AGP the primary video source instead of PCI.
