I have a computer, with a monitor. I have two monitors, as my LCD TV is the other.
When I want to watch a video, when I open the video, it opens on the 2nd screen.

If I'm using my Computer, I have to turn on my TV, then change it to the output, then slide the player over to my computer monitor.

How do I make it so it opens up on the monitor 1, and not monitor 2?

    Thank you,
    Chris.

I don't think you can have it both ways :)

There will be a setting in the Registry which associates your video player with the second screen and until you drag the video player window to the computer monitor it will remain unchanged. Presumably if you close the video player on the computer screen that is where it opens up next time around and to use the TV you have to drag it across again?

I use 2 monitors, both flat screen and that's how it works with me with the desktop extended to cover both monitors.

    A couple of suggestions .....

Set up your monitors so that the Desktop is duplicated on each monitor - not extended.

    or

Use a different video player on each monitor.

Thank you for the reply. I can't use the desktop as a duplicate because the ratios and all the stuff is different on each screen (one is a TV). One looks good while the other is distorted in duplicate mode.

Found out it's not the computer or Windows, it's VLC. My WMP opens up on the right screen.
Good old Microsoft, the one that works like it's supposed to.

Wonder what it could be in VLC that makes it open in the wrong window?

    Chris.

That's probably best asked on the VLC forums.

Found one fix. If I open WMP, then close it, then open VLC, it opens in the right window.
