    :( Working with AMD950Athlon/WindowsXP Home/Nvidia GeForce 2 MX/MX 400/ 650 megs of RAM/40 GIG Maxtor/120 Gig Maxtor(slave).

Problem: I dropped a 10gig, moved everything to the 40, and added the 120. No new programs, nothing in software has changed. Yet when I attempt to run some programs I get a message that I don't have enough "available video memory ". This occurs even if I just started up. The only active start-ups I have are Nvidia/HP/and Symantec....... Where's my video memory?

Specific Example: Grand Theft Auto 3 Requires At Least 12megs Of Available Video Memory.

    Please Assist.

    Run: dxdiag
and see if it reports video memory correctly.

Try installing DirectX 9 (and the newest video driver).

    Success!

After taking the afore mentioned suggestions, I installed the latest graphics drivers for XP offered on Nvidia home page and not only is my problem solved but my Sh*t has never looked better. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Glad to hear it! I just figured that the drivers or games didn't like something you changed and may have been looking at the wrong video. Technical, huh?

    Enjoy!
