    Hello all
I have an HP 6370Z which has an Asus DB98XV 1.01 motherboard and has a on board Rage Pro Turbo AGP 2X video which is on its way out. when I first power on my computer it looks like there is a blue piece of glass over the screen. After it has been on awhile it will flash and then it will become normal. I am thinking about buying a new video card to replace it but I know that I would have to go into the BIOS to disable the on board video but I don't know how to do this. It has a Phoenix Technologies LTD 6.00 BIOS dated 9-28-98. I am running W98SE and W2000 with 256 Megabytes of ram and a 350 megahertz Intel processor. Should I just but a new motherboard and CPU or could I replace the video?

Before I did that, I think I would take your monitor to another computer to see its not the monitor.

I agree with aleekat that the monitor should be tested on another system before you make any major moves. If you don't have a second pc at home maybe you could test it on a friend or family members PC, if the monitor still does it "blue glass" thing then buy a new monitor. If you find that it is in your intergrated video then you have several choices as you already know and the choice of which way is the best will be determined by how much $ you can spend, if the current system is meeting all your needs, if you buy a new "prebuilt" system are you willing to learn to use Win XP (it's not that hard), are you willing to spend $ on a older system, 350Mhz is slow by todays standards (I still run a pent. 166, an enhanced 386, and a few other dinosaurs), You'll have to decide what best suits YOUR needs.

Look here for info about accessing the BIOS most HP's use F1, or F2 but it may be any one of these keystrokes.
