I recently bought a GeForce XFX 6800 GT (AGP), and now for some reason I can't watch videos while playing a video game. I have a 400 watt powersupply (which is plenty) and I have no idea why this is happening. I used to be able to do both on my GeForce 5600.

Anyone have any idea what's wrong?

    Hi Brian,
What sort of "video "? What sort of "video game "? Have these changed since you changed the graphics card? Can you run the same programs as you did before? Actually, the new graphics software may not allow you to do this any longer. You may have been lucky.

When I run (big) games, that's all I run. Others may have different experiences.

If it is a game that can run in a window (example, Civilization III), you should be able to run other windows with it. If it changes the GUI (graphics user interface) and starts running special graphics effects like 3D, you may not.

Yes, please provide more detail of the game and video. And what do you mean by "it won't work ". What symptom are you experiencing?

When I first read your post I thought you meant that you could not view the cut-scene videos that play in the game between missions or levels.

Alot of video games are not really intended for multi-tasking and can crash if you alt-tab out of them so tell us a little more of what's going on.

I have been playing the same game and watching the same type of videos, but it occurs with all types of video formats. I play World of Warcraft. To be more specific, I get no video when playing ANY sort of video format, wether is be an mpeg or and avi, any type of format (Once again, this only occurs while I am palying a high-end game). I can hear everything that's going on, but no visual.

The game runs great though. Ever since I got the video card, my performance has increased.
