Here's the problem. Lately when I turn computer on after having been off all night, it's been taking a very long time before anything is displayed on the monitor. I'm talking an hour or more. Not even the dos messages when first pressing the power button. I always hear the windows chime after about 45 seconds, so that tells me that the system has booted. I might add that I never turn off power to the monitor, as its a 17" lcd. Once I do get a display okay, I can shut down and restart in a few minutes, and display is working okay. I'm kinda thinking that the problem might be the on-board video module. That when it's turned off overnight, it takes a while to "warm back up ".

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the problem. Anyone agree with my thinking?

    Thanks

After trying the method outlined in an earlier post, I decided that the problem is the monitor. I borrowed an old monitor from a friend, hooked it up, and it worked okay. Problem solved. Monitor bad.
