VIA AC’97 Audio Controller (WDM)

    i have a gateway 300s
    2400 MHz.amd
    winxp pro
    mobo intel brownville d845 gb.
    the onboard sound will not work.
    there were five 5 Controllers not found ,fixed four of them .usb ,video
    VIA AC’97 Audio Controller (WDM) for this comp does not seem to install right.
    the gateway site is no real help.if you need my serial # is 0031502126 for use on the gateway site.called gateway ,the say mobo no longer supported with all drvs.i have no restore disk.is there a fix or a trick?

    The latest driver would appear to be here Suggest you check that your Southbridge chipset is on the list before installing. If you do not know the Southbridge i/d download Everest and look under Motherboard > Chipset.
