    FF 0.9.2
Downloaded a new theme today but failed to notice that it was an OSX theme. FF would not open no matter what I did. I tried to delete my extensions to no avail. Couldn't find my profile manager to create a new one. Uninstalled FF and re-installed it to no avail. Something about an XUL binding. Finally uninstalled it, did a search for FF files and uninstalled them. At this point I'm hesistant to download a new copy simply fearing this problem still lurks on the computer and it would be a waste of my time.

Right now, having deleted Mozilla yesterday in hopes of Netscape making an appearance, I have no Mozilla/FF browsers. Only Thunderbird remains. I'm using Opera to surf.

I would like another copy of FF but is there anything else I need to clean out before downloading and installing it? Thanks.

    Hi James,

Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you. Whew, a busy day for me...

O.K., not sure if you remembered to close Firefox before trying to access the Profile Manager. Anyway, from Firefox FAQ: http://texturizer.net/firefox/faq.html
To start the Profile Manager on Windows, follow these steps:

    1. Close Firefox completely (select File > Exit from the menu).
    2. Select Start > All Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Profile Manager from the Windows Start menu.

Once started, you are able to add, remove or rename profiles. Note that the profile manager may be removed in newer versions of Firefox, which will force you to use command line switches instead of the graphical interface.

I don't know whether or not you ever edit your Registry, and if not, then forget it. But if you do, then do a FIND for Firefox and Mozilla, and remove all entries.

If the error you received was XBL binding, rather than XUL, that may have to do with a Theme, or perhaps the extension you installed. What you can do is delete the chrome folder which is a subfolder of the default.xxx folder.
