I have Version 4.10.2222 of Windows 98 Second Edition (98SE) on a machine that does not have internet access. I have a Memorex USB 2.0 Thumb Drive that I can use with my new Dell XP machine (Has Internet Access). I would like to get the necessary drivers for the Thumb Drive for the Version 4.10.2222 of Windows 98 Second Edition (98SE) so I can transfer some of my files to my new machine (VOSTRO). Both machines have a CD drive if that would help. Thank You!
PS: I am unfortunately a novice so any help would be much appreciated.

Check this web site and put in Version 4.10.2222
    www.driverguide.com

They do show a USB driver for your version of Windows.

Have you checked at the Memorex website and looked for any drivers for the thumb drive? If you buy a thumb drive, it will tell you on the packaging if it has drivers available for Windows 98.

Food for thought: if you plug the drive is does it work? If so, you don't have to install drivers...it'll work but a bit slower.

andersmha sent a PM to Whiskeyman stating:

    Revised 11/21/09

    Hi Steve,
Actually my message to Whiskey Man was a thank you for the help. I did find the site he mentioned and was able to download the drivers and copy them to CD so I could load them to my old machine. But as of yet I have not been successful in installing my thumb drive. I go to the control panel and pick add new hardware, then the process looks for plug and play, it finds none; then it allows me to select 'look for new hardware' ( I have my drive plugged into the usb socket) but it does not find the hardware. Then it ask do I want to manually install new hardware and I say yes, I pick the USB category from the list but I don't find the memorex or universal drivers and that is as far as I get.
    Thank You,
    Mike

'You need the Memorex driver - try this link .....'
Okay I can get to the executable but how do I extract the information on my Dell that has access to the internet so I can load it on my ISA Window's 98 machine that does not have access to the internet. I am afraid to run the executable because I don't want to mess up my new Dell machine. Thank You!

Download the .exe file to the Dell, save to hard drive and burn to CD.

Insert CD in Win 98 comp and run the .exe file.

Don't run the .exe on the Dell :)
