I cannot seem to get sound from this app either by sending a wave to it or direct playing from an LP turntable. My intention is moving LPs to CDs thru an app that I have had a while and used before I installed XP.

The sounds will play thru Media Player but when I send a wave file to the recorder, it does indicate that something is going there from the graphic wave pattern shown. But nothing from the speakers.

The speakers do work thru the media player so I know they are working and they play all sounds from other apps

As I understand it, Microsoft, in its infinite wisdom, has configured recent editions of Sound Recorder to play a maximum 30-second wav file. Therefore, if you are sending files that play longer than 30 seconds, SR will just sit there struggling but producing nothing in the way of sound...and will sometimes tell you "not enough memory.
