Using templates in MS Word

One of my docs is having a problem with his computer when he tries to create new documents using the templates in word. Whenever he clicks on the template, as soon as he tries to fill in the address field, the computer brings up the hourglass and it never goes away. I have tried using other templates on his computer with similar results and have not been able to re-create the problem on either of the pc's in my office. I used norton to scan for viruses and it found none. Has anyone else found similar problems with word templates and if so, how was the problem resolved. My next step is to see if the network installation people left me the software so I can try to re-install.
