I have a friend that want to loan his laptop out to his brother but wants his personal files removed but still wants to keep the OS and program files intact.

Can I run CCleaner Drive Wiper with the following chosen options:

    1. Free Space Only
    2. Simple overwrite (1pass)
    3. Local drive C:

Will this do what he wants done?

In a word, no. That would only overwrite the unused space between existing files on drive C:.

If he's running Windows 7, most of his personal files will probably exist in:

    C:\Users\{username}\Contacts
    C:\Users\{username}\Desktop
    C:\Users\{username}\Documents
    C:\Users\{username}\Downloads
    C:\Users\{username}\Favorites
    C:\Users\{username}\Music
    C:\Users\{username}\Pictures
    C:\Users\{username}\Saved Games
    C:\Users\{username}\Videos
