Uses of volatile memory

    What can be uses of non-volatile and volatile memory?
    as volatile memory is lost easily im unsure as to the uses of it can someone help out?

    Yeah, you use volatile memory all the time. As noted in Steve's link, RAM is the most common. It forgets everything as soon as power is removed.

    A hard drive is probably the most common form of non-volatile.

    As I get older, my brain is getting more and more like... ...ummm. Never mind. I forgot what I was going to say. ;)
