I have two computers running Win2000 set up to connect via dialup. I can establish a connection, but when I try to access the shared drives a message pops up saying that I cannot connect because the user's password has expired. However, the users pasword is set to never expire. I've confirmed that the user can in fact log in directly on the computer. Why won't it let me in?

May be a confusion about exactly which user account.

In order for the sharing to work properly, you had to have taken one of three routes/options:
    - log on to both PCs with the same username and non-blank password
    - log on to both PCs using any username and non-blank password and enabled the Guest account (disabled by default on 2K)
    - place a copy of both username/passwords in the local users section of each PC.

Sounds like either one of the 4 account passwords is set to expire (if you are using the last option) or that an account has become corrupt.
