I'm sure someone asked this before but have been unable to get answer in search. Do you have to use a USER ACCT to log onto Windows XP Pro. I see other computer go right into the desktop bypassing any logon signature panel, while others stop for the USER ACCT information, password, etc. Thanks for any help.

You can only log onto XP with a user account. Those computers you have seen which go straight to the desktop are set up to automatically log the user in.

Start > Run > type in control userpasswords2 > OK and in the User Accounts dialogue box which opens highlight an account and uncheck 'Users must enter a user name & password ....'
