Hi I really need help. I had to do a full system recovery because the drivers for my audio equipment was not working. The system recovery program said it would not effect any files added to the computer since it had been first purchased. That worked fine. The problem is that the computer was set up into different users. There were four users and unfortunatly I had made my user private. I was able to access the documents and folders for the other three users when I set up the computer again and re-entered the different users. Unfortunately when I tried to copy my files it comes up with the message saying "C:\Documents and settings\Bgou is not accessible. Access is denied." I assume this is because I did set it as being private. I now cannot access any of my documents which is a serious problem because a lot of my uni work is on it and it is reasonably important stuff.

If anyone can direct me on how i can fix this problem I would be very greatful.

    Thankyou
    Bgou

Search Help for "Taking Ownership" and follow the instructions.

I can see what you want me to do. I followed the instructions in help but when I open properties for the folder it does not show the relevant information that help is talking about

If you mean the Security tab, in XP Pro disable Simple file sharing. For XP Home, boot into safe mode (hit F8) and login as admin.
