Ok, my laptop crashed and I had to hard restart it (basically, like pulling the plug, by pressing the power button down for a few seconds). When I went to log back on, it gave me this error message:
"Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator.

DETAIL - An I/O operation initiated by the registry failed unrecoverably. The registry could not read in, or write out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's image of the registry. "

I have no idea what to do to fix it, as I am fairly new with XP. Anyone know what to do?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Look Here and click the check box to the left of What is System Restore in Windows XP ?.

You should be able to revert the PC to a time before the problem started.
