I have an Intel D845PT mobo (dell dimension 4400), the specs say i should only use 200/266mhz ddr dimms, but i was wondering if i got pc3200 ram if it will still run on the mobo, just at the speed of pc2100, or would it be incompatible? This way when I eventually junk my dell, I could pop the 512mb ddr400 ram into my other pc which supports it. Seems like a waste since ddr400 is basically the same price as ddr266. Thanks!

It's almost always a safe bet to use faster memory. Look at the specs on the 3200, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work fine.

You might also look into the possibility that a BIOS update has lended support for faster memory for that board.
