USB V2.0, compatible with USB V1.1

    Are most USB items backward compatible with USB 1.1 ??

    Before I order I would like to make sure that ...
    This " Coolmax 3.5 "/5.25" External enclosure [ Features:
    Compatible 5.25 CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD Drive and 3.5" HDD ..
    Or a similar one ,going to use it as a portable 30 gig HD
    and 1 for a CDRW if my frind wants 1 for her laptop

    Interface: USB V2.0, compatible with USB V1.1
    Works with PC ] "

    Yes it'll work at 1.1. Slow, but it will work.

    Also you might check your BIOS and see if USB 2.0 is turned on? That is if your confuser is 2.0 compatible. You might also buy a plug-in for making USB 2.0 available on it.

    Bmoore1129 thanks for the ideas , however most of the PC's I would be using it on would only have USB 1

    Maybe I was unclear....You can buy a PCI card that will give you 4 USB 2.0 ports. These ports will work on 2.0 or 1.1.

    thanks for idea of buying PCI card that will give me 4 USB 2.0 ports . , but I planed on carrying it around to other PC's that most likely would not have USB 2 ports.
