Following latest Microsft update, plugging in a USB device (camera, printer, thumbdrive)causes a system reboot. I've tried updating the BIOS, uninstalling and reinstalling the USB hubs and ports, and uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers. Anything else I can try? Thanks.

That prepositional phrase makes me think you should try uninstalling the latest MS update or use System Restore to roll back to a date prior to it, or do both.

Your problem sounds like a hradware problem, incorrect chipset(USB) drivers can cause spikes during installation - this can cause permanent damage (this usually only occurs if you have large power demands on your hubs when changing drivers) Best not to have anything plugged in if u know they're being updated. I would look closely at the USB peripherals I had plugged-in (one of these may be faulty and drawing to much current)
I would also re-install the manufacturer's chipset/usb drivers (windows update rarely touches these drivers to my knowlege so check your printer etc.. 1st)
