Hey, i'm wondering if anyone can recommend a reliable, compact and speedy USB2 hub.

    -USB2
-Spaced out ports - room for odd USB plugs
    -AC adapter
    -No weird USB detection issues
-The more ports the better :D

Kinda hard to go wrong with Belkin in my opinion.

BUSSlink seems to make a decent one also.

    Belkin

    BUSSlink

    Adaptech
    This one sounds kinda cool!

    Hi, jaylach.

Upon reading the info at your Belkin link:
I am confused by that last sentence.

Does Belkin have a reputation for producing inferior products or does "Mr C." have a generally bad attitude toward Belkin?

I'm guessing, based on your opinion of Belkin and the reviewer's other comments about the Belkin USB HUB-F5U-221, the reviewer made a typo and didn't proof-read well enough. :)

OOPS!!! Yes, I saw that also. I meant to point that out and forgot.

I'm assumeing also that it was a typo in the review as the rest of it seems positive.

Keep in mind that I don't have a hub. With the 4 usb ports on my system I haven't needed one. I've been thinking about getting one though and would like to thank you for your question as without it I wouldn't have seen the adaptech one. Now, when I do get one, I will have to decide between Belkin and the adaptech one. I like the idea of it's being 'invisible', hidden in a picture frame.

Just so you know I have zero knowledge about the company in the middle link (can't remember the name), but belkin and adaptech (sp) both seem to have very good reputations.

Also keep in mind that each link is just one of many models both, probably all three, make.

"reliable "...to me that would say "what kind of support does the manufacturer offer in case of problems ".
I would go to the website of the of the hardware and see how well it is supported (information, FAQs, downloads/updates, knowledgebase, etc)

My experience with Belkin phone support (though not on hubs) has been very positive.

To me reliable means: If I see a balloon about USB issues, it's in the trash.
