USB Device Not Recognized .... how i can solve this problem

    Hello,

    i have an old computer "dont include USB"
    so when i purchase new USB HP printer "854c" i purchase USB card
    but till now i cant use this printer "cant detect the printer"

    this message is appear in WinXP when the Win plug the new USB device



    USB Device Not Recognized

    one of the usb devices attached to this computer has Malfunctioned, & Windows does not recognize it
    for assistance in solving this problem click this message


    then when i click in this message its appear a box & tell me to replace the device

    i try to
    - put the usb cable in another device
    - put USB Card in another PCI slot
    - install HP Driver
    - install another Windows Version
    - test the USB card+USB cable + Printer in another computer & it work without any problem

    Just a hunch, but older computers do not always support USB and when they do, it must be set in the CMOS. Try entering "setup" after restarting your computer, and see if you can find the spot to activate USB.

    I tried to comment earlier but my post did not get to the website for some reason.
    Many older computers do not recognize USB; those that do often have a setting in the BIOS to enable USB.
    Enter Setup and check for the place to recognize USB and see if that doesn't work.
