Intenso USB 2 64Gb Memory stick not read allocated reference letter. Changing letter using Disk Manage allows Memory stick to work properly. Using stick again letter refers back to its original allocated letter and again is not recognised by Windows 7. Other makes of USB 2 Memory Sticks are not affected with this error and function normally.

It sounds like you have more than one USB connected device. Have you tried this stick in more than one computer?

Thanks Bill, yes I do have several 4 HD, Keyboard, Trust We cam and mouse.
What is a puzzle is why only the Intenso Sticks giving trouble and not the other brands.

Not all are created equal. Plus, they are not very robust devices and can easily be damaged through physical abuse, and/or from ESD.

This is why I suggested trying it in another computer to see what happens.

USB flash disks are inserted into the USB socket at front of computer and also at rear, no difference is found. I have also disconnected two of my HDs to reduce the load on the USB controller. USB disk do fire up if done through the Disk Manage by changing the letter both for writing too and reading contents. However letters changed revert back to original letter given by the computer. I have nine of these USB disk Intenso, two work proper seven not. I now realise why Maplin were selling them at half price at £29.99.i

A request is made for Volume address. What correct wording should be typed?

    Yes Volume Label.

    At present set as :
Volume Label Intenso {N]. Computer resets to (H).
    File System NTFS
    Allocation Unit 4096
At each restart of the computer letter (N) resets itself to (H).
incidentally, to save performance, I disconnected and removed the Hard Disk which was shown as (H). On rare occasions the computer does load the USB Intenso at start up and shows under computer drives. As mentioned the USB flash disk Intenso does appear under (H), otherwise requires the use each time of Windows Disk Manage..
