I just got a new computer that came with XP Home SP2 to replace my desktop (blown motherboard, not having it replaced). I had XP Pro on my desktop, however the disk is about 8 months old and I had downladed SP2 for it off the website. So now, when I go to install XP Pro on my new laptop, I get an error telling me that I can't install it since it is older than the XP Home on the new computer. I want to install XP pro, but I'm afraid I'll lose all the Sony software on the computer if I uninstall the current version of Windows. Any advice?

    azblackknight86 - Welcome to the Board :)

Your XP Pro disk probably does not have SP 2 - a workaround here
